patientsMedical Access offers international travel consultations and will assist with travel medicine. The ideal timeframe is (6) six weeks or earlier prior to travel, but a consultation could occur no later than two weeks prior to travel. The consultation would include a discussion of your destination, types of activities you plan to do, length of stay, review of past vaccinations (bring your immunization records), discussion of medical travel risks and risk/ benefits of suggested vaccinations.

Potential vaccinations and travel medicine include:

Yellow Fever: Our Medical Director, Dr. Manbir Takhar, has been designated as a Yellow Fever Vaccination provider by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. This vaccine is typically recommended for individuals living or traveling to parts of Africa and South America.

Other vaccines that may be suggested are:

  • Tetanus
  • Meningococcal
  • Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR)
  • Rabies
  • Influenza
